Back in the mists of time, Nonie studied Latin in school with the wonderful Mr Phelps, whose love of cricket, heart-rending stories of being a prisoner of war and legendary Tarzan calls made him a natural teacher of Latin grammar.

Nonie studied languages at university and her degree in languages led to a series of loosely related jobs and many holidays abroad, where she continues to confuse the locals with an enthusiastic and  vaguely Latin-based version of their own language.

Her approach to teaching is to combine structure and foundation with plunging in and having a go.  Confidence, communication and fun are the aims of her teaching. A strong belief that a shared joke is the quickest and best way to communicate understanding underpins as many of Nonie’s interactions as she can get away with.
